Title: Londonderry Jamboree
Hello Cross Country Parents,
Welcome to a new season of Cross Country! This Thursday (Sept 29th) LHS will hold it's annual Jamboree. This meet is a "scrimmage". There are about 125 runners who compete at this meet. It is a tradition that the LHS XC and Track Club provide each runner with an apple, a baked good, and some water. Sunnycrest Farms and Mack's Apples donate the apples. We need you to help us out and provide the baked goods. We are looking for individually wrapped baked goods - whoopie pies, brownies, cookies, trail mix, or anything your runner loves. This is the one time during the season they get to eat something yummy after a race! Please bring your baked goods to the track on Thursday between 3:30 ad 3:45. We will be under the blue tent. If anyone wants to stay and help out that would be great too. Thanks so much for your help. Looking forward to another great season!

Title: Lundgren Road Race 2013
Dear Track Club Parents,
I hope you all are enjoying your summer! It is hard to believe but the Lundgren 5K Road Race is fast approaching. The date for the race is August 17th. We are looking for a few volunteers to collect raffle prizes that the club gives out after the race. The prizes are from local businesses and there will only be a few to collect. Please consider helping us out. Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will get you the small list of places.
Thank you in advance for your help,
VP Londonderry Cross Country and Track Club
Title: Track Club Meeting
Another active year of the LHS Cross Country and Track Club is drawing to a close and we are already looking forward to next year. On Monday, June 10th we will have our final General Meeting of the LHS Cross Country and Track Club for this school year and hold elections for Board Members at that time. The meeting will be at Michele McAuliffe's house (11 Haywood Rd.) at 7:00 pm.
The Track Club Board is comprised of the positions of: President, Vice President, Secretary,Treasurer and 1-2 Members at large. We also have many non-board volunteers who assist in the Club in many ways; Scholarship Committee, Lundgren Road Race, Middle School State Meet, Fall Bake Sale, Apparel Orders, Home Track Meets, Londonderry Invitational, and Meet of Champions, just to name a few.
We have three open Board Positions for the upcoming 2013-2014 year and a huge need for Event Coordinators. The open Board positions are for President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Currently Michele McAuliffe will be running for President, Kelly Russell for Secretary, and Liz Court for Treasurer. Terri Troisi will be finishing her term as Vice President.
At the moment, most of the events listed above are coordinated by Nancy Peabody and Terri Troisi. The Club will be losing both of them after next year. Both women have been involved with the Track Club for many years and have a vast amount of knowledge between them. We would really like people to step forward for 2013-2014 and work with the current coordinators to learn what needs to be done and take over an event for the following year. These are the events that keep the Track Club funded!
It is not too late to express interest in any of the open Board positions or to become an Event Coordinator for one of the events mentioned. Please feel free to get in touch with any current Board Member if you would like more information about the open positions or training as an Event Coordinator:
Sandy Lagueux- email@example.com
Terri Trosis- firstname.lastname@example.org
Michele McAuliffe- email@example.com
Ellen Szymanski- firstname.lastname@example.org
The Track Club provides a tremendous amount of support to all six of the LHS running and field teams (Boys and Girls XC, Indoor T&F, and Outdoor T&F). It is possible thanks to the time and effort put in by our Board Members and the wonderful parent volunteers. Please consider an open Board Position or becoming an Event Coordinator to help continue the success of the LHS Cross Country and Track Club. We really do have a lot of fun and honestly no one person does all the work!
And last but not least, a very big thank you to everyone who has helped make this past year so successful!
Secretary, Londonderry Track Club
Title: Londonderry Invitational
I hope you all are enjoying this wonderful spring weather - we deserve it! As you know Londonderry is hosting an invitational meet again this year and it is fast approaching! The date for the meet is
Saturday May 18th. We will need volunteers for spandex sales, the concession stand and for the meet itself. For the meet, we will need 2 people to stand at the gate that leads onto the track so people
will not wander onto the track. There will be 2 shifts 11:30am - 2pm and 2pm until the meet ends. We will also need 5 people to help mark the field events. If you help marking the
field events, please arrive at the track at 11:45am. For the concession stand we will need 2 shifts of 8. The first shift is 11am - 2 pm, the second from 2pm until the meet ends. For the spandex sale we will need 2 shifts
with 1 person each. You will not work alone, there will be others there! The shift times are the same as the concession stand. Please sign up on the Google spreadsheet, the link is below. I want to thank you all in advance for your help, the proceeds from the concession stand help all the track athletes. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at
. Come help us out - meet new people and have fun!
Thank you again,
Vice President Londonderry Cross Country and Track Club
PS To the Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman parents - This event counts towards

17th ANNUAL BOSTON PREP 16 MILER
Sunday, January 27, 2013 - 10:00AM
West Running Brook Elementary School, Derry, NH
The Greater Derry Track Club organizes this race; our boys and girls teams have each worked a water stop at this race for the past two years. The LHS Track club will be paid $200.00 for each stop.
Athletes will hand our water or energy packets to the runners and pick up the discarded cups when they are done. Each stop is set up with all the supplies needed by the Greater Derry Track Club. All you do is show up and work the stop during the race.
Each team has been assigned a specific stop, the girls will be at mile 6, the boys at mile nine.
Information for volunteers: (one adult and 8-10 team members per stop).
Race location: Derry NH. Runners will start and end by the West Running Brook Elementary School, Derry, NH.
1) Dress very warm, like you are going skiing.
2) Wear Plastic/Latex Gloves over your own gloves so if you split water on your hands they stay dry.
3) Plan on being at the race for 2 hours or so.
4) Your start time will be determined by which water stop you are assigned and you will be told that the week before the race.
5) Carpooling in strongly encouraged.
In the past years, not only does the Track Club receive $200.00 per stop, but also the volunteers have all received long sleeve dry fit shirts for helping out. ( this is based on availability & not guaranteed)
This is a very fun event and the more volunteers the more fun you have.
